Amid the corona pandemic, knocking at the doors of Britain, Spain, Portugal, and Canada, now America is also getting a rapid increase in the cases of monkeypox. WHO says that even a single case found in any country will be considered an outbreak of this virus. Monkey pox virus is native to the orthopoxvirus family. This virus includes the variola virus, which causes small pox. Vaccinia virus of this family is used to prepare the vaccine(antidote) for treating smallpox. The symptoms of monkeypox are also less serious compared to smallpox. It is a virus that spreads from animals. The traces of this virus is found in wild animals but the domestic animals and people going away from the house may catch it and bring it into the house. Smallpox was eradicated by vaccine from the world in the year 1980 but the countries like middle and west Africa still show some cases of monkeypox. Cleanliness and hygienic precautions are the only solutions to preventing the spread of this virus. These measures can only be a way to get rid of such viruses.
WHO IS MORE PRONE TO THIS VIRUS:
This virus is found in monkeys, squirrels, and dogs. It enters the body through the skin, respiratory tract, eyes, nose, and mouth. This virus spreads from one person to the other through respiratory droplets. It may spread from animals through animal bites and scratches. Any sort of physical contact with the infected person may lead to the spreading of the virus to more people. Anyone can come in contact with this virus irrespective of the diet you take.
HOW IT SPREADS:
It spreads in the same way as the coronavirus from person to person. If someone touches the clothes or other accessories of the infected person, he/she may be prone to catch it. Those who already have had the coronavirus must be more careful. One should not come in contact with the coughing, sneezing, or clothing of the infected as it can lead to more spread and a rise in the number of cases of this virus.
Small children, old and diseased people need special attention and should be kept away from the infected person.

- Rashes appear all over the body similar to small pox.
- Cracking of skin
- Getting the above symptoms within 1-2 days of fever
- Numerous rashes on the hands and feet and face than the neck
- Red-colored rashes
- Pneumonia
- Muscle pain
- Severe headache
- Shivering
- Swelling in the body
- Dizziness
